Το PEN Greece ενημερώνει τα μέλη του ότι έχουν ανοίξει οι εγγραφές για τη διαδικτυακή συμμετοχή στο Ετήσιο Παγκόσμιο Συνέδριο 2026 της Επιτροπής για τους Συγγραφείς στη Φυλακή του PEN International.
Η συνάντηση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 19 και 20 Μαΐου 2026, από τις 13:00 έως τις 16:00 (ώρα Λονδίνου), δηλαδή 15:00 έως 18:00 (ώρα Ελλάδας) μέσω διαδικτύου.
Η Επιτροπή για τους Συγγραφείς στη Φυλακή (WiPC) αποτελεί έναν από τους πλέον ενεργούς πυλώνες του PEN International, καθώς υπερασπίζεται την ελευθερία της έκφρασης και τους διωκόμενους συγγραφείς σε όλο τον κόσμο. Ιδρύθηκε το 1960, ως απάντηση στις αυξανόμενες προσπάθειες φίμωσης των διαφορετικών φωνών μέσω διώξεων και φυλάκισης συγγραφέων και δημοσιογράφων.
Κάθε χρόνο, οι εκστρατείες της WiPC αναδεικνύουν σημαντικές υποθέσεις διεθνώς και προωθούν την ετήσια Λίστα Υποθέσεων (CaseList) του PEN International. Πέρα από τη στήριξη μεμονωμένων συγγραφέων, η Επιτροπή παρεμβαίνει και σε ευρύτερα ζητήματα που επηρεάζουν την ελευθερία της έκφρασης, καθώς και στην ολοένα αυξανόμενη παρουσία κάθε μορφής λογοκρισίας, όπως οι κατηγορίες για ποινική δυσφήμηση και βλασφημία, καθώς και όλες οι μορφές ρητορικής μίσους.
Τα μέλη που επιθυμούν να συμμετάσχουν μπορούν να εγγραφούν στον ακόλουθο σύνδεσμο.
Οι εγγραφές κλείνουν στις 15 Μαΐου 2026, συνεπώς συνιστάται η έγκαιρη δήλωση συμμετοχής.
Το PEN Greece ενθαρρύνει θερμά τη συμμετοχή των μελών του σε μια συνάντηση που ενισχύει τον διεθνή διάλογο και τη συλλογική δράση για την προάσπιση της ελευθερίας της έκφρασης.
Ακολουθεί το πρόγραμμα του συνεδρίου. Επισημαίνεται ότι οι εκδηλώσεις θα λάβουν χώρα στην αγγλική γλώσσα.

In today's age of information excessive overload, storytelling is essential to amplify endangered voices. Mainstream media often concentrates on specific countries and issues driven by political interests, economic priorities, or popular social trends, while ignoring societies that receive little coverage from major media and global powers.
Nonetheless, the stories from these neglected regions—their struggles, resilience, and courage—are often beyond imagination. Many unsung heroes, particularly at-risk and formerly imprisoned writers, remain unheard. Giving space to these stories and ensuring they are heard is not just important, it's our duty. The question is: how can we do that? Let's explore this together in this panel discussion.
